  • Here are some ways to help make the Timebank better:

    We need more people! If you have friends that you trade with or who might be interested in joining a Timebank of mutual support, please let them know about the Timebank. The more people we have, the more useful the Timebank is.

    In particular, you might think of people who have time but not much money. Post our website link to Facebook, send an email out to friends and coworkers, throw a neighborhood swap party and Timebank orientation with our help, or encourage a nonprofit organization you work with to join.     Upload a picture of yourself. It promotes community and trust when we can see who is on the Timebank. =)

    We also encourage you to regularly post new offers AND requests. Even if you haven’t earned credit, you can still post a request. This helps generate trading as much as offers.

    Additionally, you can renew old offers and requests by going to your logged in home page. At the bottom, it will list your old postings, which you can edit and post a new expiration date for.

    If you have trouble earning hours, you can volunteer for Hayes Valley Farm, Adaptogen, the Humanist Hall, Grey Water Action, or the Timebank Planning Committee. Just search for them when you are logged in for more info.

    We will be adding more community service organizations soon! Let us know if you know one that should be a part of the Timebank.

    Come to a meeting and volunteer! We need your input in the design, outreach, and oversight of the Timebank. We are an unfunded, volunteer-based, community-run Timebank, which means we need YOU! We can definitely use help in doing outreach at events, meetings, and to organizations that serve the community. We also need small donations for making brochures and cards with info. about the Timebank.

    We usually have meetings 1st Monday of the month. The next Timebank meeting is on Mon. ??? at 8pm, Noisebridge 2169 Mission St. 3rd floor SF. For meeting announcements, check the calendar at the bottom of the Timebank home page (logged in view), join the volunteer listserv, or contact mira (at) sfbace.org.
